The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) is an inter governmental organisation working towards the promotion and protection of human rights. It is a forum where issues are discussed with special emphasis on the humanitarian aspect. Dealing with intricate matters, this council provides a platform for its member states to raise concerns over human rights violations, thereby allowing a free flow of opinion.
Often finding itself in the headlines, the functioning of the UNHRC makes it one of the most interesting bodies of the UN.

UNGA-DISEC
UN General Assembly - Disarmament and International Security
UN General Assembly - Disarmament and International Security (UNGA-DISEC), also known as the First Committee, deals with disarmament, global challenges and threats to peace affecting the international community. Established as one of the primary six committees of the UN General Assembly, DISEC remains as one of the indispensable organs of the United Nations.
Although UNGA-DISEC cannot mandate individual state sanctions or armed intervention, it is empowered to form principles that govern and draft recommendatory resolutions to its members, the Security Council, or both with regard to the following matters-
1. International Peace and Security
2. Disarmament and regulation of armaments
3. Conflicts and means of prevention
The committee has been critical in providing recommendations on regulating potentially harmful technologies such as nuclear, biological, and chemical weaponry.
